Home to its fabulous and world famous Film Festival, Cannes is best known for its stunning Marina. Cannes provides sandy beaches, nude sunbathing, many restaurants and cafes with a good view and a great lunch as well as a laid back way of life. Places to see while in Cannes may include the Musee de la Castre for its magnificent collection of art and early civilization exhibits. Overlooking the Marina is the Tour du Suquet, a fourteenth Century Tower upon Suquet Hill home to the Old Town. One of the area's most historic of churches is that of the Notre Dame de L'Esperance which will provide you with a good understanding of the history of this part of the French Riviera.
The best walk in Cannes is along the Promenade de la Croisette where the views are spectacular. Instead of walking you may prefer to jump on the Petit Trains Touristique de Cannes or hire a scooter. Driving in Cannes is a dangerous experience so take care and be especially careful when crossing the roads, as cars do not generally stop at crossings.
A ferry excursion over to the Fort de L'Ile is a popular attraction where you can discover the islands first century BC roman town.
